The Phil Tompkins Lecture is an annual event in which the Department of Communication bring in Lamb School alumna to give a lecture on their successful research and career to show current students the endless possibilities after graduation. Speaker Information

Dr. Graham Bodie is a Lamb School alumna who is now a professor at The University of Mississippi. Dr. Bodie teaches both undergraduate and graduate students in the Integrated Marketing Program within the School of Journalism and New Media at Mississippi. For research, Dr. Bodie runs the Bodie Listening Lab which focuses on how listening can help us understand and connect with others. Taking that research, Dr. Bodie works as a consultant for individuals and organizations to improve collaboration, communication, and listening. Dr. Bodie is also a proud sponsor of the Listen First Project, an organization promoting social cohesion and unity.

 

Date and Time of Event

There will be a meet and greet held prior to the lecture. This will take place on Thursday, April 11 from 4:00-5:00PM in Beering Hall, room 2118.

Following the meet and greet, the lecture will be held from 5:00-7:00PM in Beering Hall, room 1245.
