Join the Purdue University Research Center in Economics for an engaging talk by special guest Joe Tracy, a Distinguished Fellow at the Daniels School of Business and a nonresident senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. In "Is the FHA Producing Sustainable Homeownership?" Tracy will review the history, original mission, and evolution of the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) since the 1930s and will argue that the FHA has transitioned to pushing “affordability” of homeownership over “sustainability” of homeownership. He will discuss a change to the FHA that would increase the sustainability of homeownership. This is particularly important given the high share of FHA borrowers who are first-time borrowers. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED by noon Eastern on October 3.
