Donut (& fruit) social hour starts at 10am to meet fellow riders, and our ride leaders will help you choose the appropriate ride for your interest and cycling needs.

There are 4 different rides (varying from leisurely 3 mile trail rides to 1-2 hour rides through Tippecanoe county) leaving from the park at 11am and returning by 1pm for lunch, provided by the WRCC.

Daniel J. Romary, MD (BSBME ’18, MSBME ’19) is a research fellow at Northwestern’s Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute in Chicago, focusing on mitral valve disease, atrial fibrillation, and aortic dissection. He will return to Seattle to complete his general surgery residency as he continues training in cardiothoracic surgery. A former Purdue trustee, patented inventor, and AI trainer, he brings a unique perspective to this discussion.

Dr. Spaulding is a board-certified general dermatologist and Assistant Professor with Indiana University Arnett, where he has practiced and taught for the past five years.

In his presentation, Evidence-Based Skin Care, Dr. Spaulding will explore what scientific research truly shows about skin care products and interventions that claim anti-aging, rejuvenating, and skin cancer–prevention benefits. Drawing on current evidence, he’ll cover topics such as sunscreens, collagen, retinoids, and hormonal therapy — helping participants distinguish proven strategies from popular myths.

Mucca Pazza’s original genre-bending compositions are inspired by everything from surf rock to Stravinsky. Then there are the brightly colored, mismatched thrift-shop get-ups, a squad of absurdist cheerleaders, and implausible instrumentation that includes electric guitars, accordions, violins, and even a cello. A darling of Chicago’s underground music scene since 2004, Mucca Pazza has performed at Lollapalooza, Lincoln Center, the Montreal Jazz Fest, and NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert Series. At Purdue, this merry band of misfits will roam campus, providing a variety of free pop-up performances at different spaces. Fusing DIY punk aesthetics, Balkan brass, and marching-band maximalism, Mucca Pazza presents an eminently danceable embrace of the absurd.

Jim's research focuses on workplace courage, improvement-oriented voice (why people speak up or stay silent at work), ethical decision-making and behavior, and other leadership-related topics. This research, as well as his consulting experiences, has been conducted across a variety of global high-technology and service-oriented industries as well as public sector institutions, including K-12 education. His research has appeared in many outlets, including Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organization Science, Personnel Psychology, Research in Organizational Behavior, and Journal of Business Ethics. Detert's research has won several academic best paper awards and is regularly featured in various online and print media outlets. He is a frequent contributor to Sloan Management Review and Harvard Business Review, and the author of the book Choosing Courage: The Everyday Guide to Being Brave at Work, published by Harvard Business Review Press.

Jim received his M.A. in sociology and Ph.D. in organizational behavior from Harvard University. He also holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota and a BBA from the University of Wisconsin.

The Bang on a Can All-Stars have collaborated with and performed the music of fellow New Yorkers Philip Glass and Steve Reich for more than 30 years. Now, as a tribute to these living legends—and their upcoming 90th birthdays—the All-Stars are presenting landmark works by the pair on tour.

Released by Philip Glass in 1982, Glassworks is among his most successful and most-loved albums, but Glass has never performed the complete work live with his touring ensemble. In this concert, the All-Stars will perform a brand-new arrangement of Glassworks in its entirety, alongside Reich’s acclaimed rock quintet 2×5 and New York Counterpoint, in honor of these two legendary composers and their birthday milestones.

By blending classic drummer-led traditions with modern improvisation, Boom Tic Boom has achieved widespread recognition. Celebrating over a decade of music together, the group has earned numerous “Top 10 Jazz Albums” accolades and performed at premier international festivals and on renowned programs like NPR’s Fresh Air and Tiny Desk. Join traditionally trained, Native Hawaiian hula dancers Purdue Alumna Kanoelehua Perreira (MA’17) and Leilani Soon from Honolulu, Hawaii as they teach the basic technique and 'mele' songs of Hula. Come ready with comfortable clothing and water because Hula is a workout for the body but it also tells a story about the Aloha Spirit!

Create your own poke bowl starting 4pm while supplies last. At 4:30pm and 5:30pm, enjoy Hula performance and Talk Story hosted by Kanoe and Leilani. Journey through Hawaiian history with Kanoe and Leilani as they perform 'Kahiko' Ancient Style Hula into the modern age of Hula Dance.At 5pm, learn how to make spam musubi with the Purdue Hawai`i Club and string together an upcycled lei.
